Why I created Birthing Boldly…

Are you feeling anxious about the intensity of birth?

Maybe you’re worried about physical outcomes?

Or perhaps you want more from your birth experience — but you're not sure quite how to get there.

I get it. For my first birth, I was educated and showed up physically ready.

But I had no real support strategies for myself or my husband. Though I felt overall it was positive, I felt completely disconnected from my brain, breath, and body. I simply hung on and white-knuckled through it.

For my next births, I prepared differently, adding a bit more each time.

I connected to my brain and breath early in pregnancy.

I had specific, informed conversations with my care team.

I created a chill + connected birth environment that actually calmed my nervous system.

I developed and practiced real coping strategies — for myself and my husband.

I was amazed at how present and peaceful those births felt.

I created BIRTHING BOLDLY to help you understand what happens in your body and brain, during labour — and how your environment, your breath, and your support person shape your entire experience of it.

You can't fully predict how your birth will go. But you can show up connected, informed, and ready to be an active participant as you navigate it.

I wish you a gentle birth.

What participants are saying

about Birthing Boldly

  • I took the prenatal pelvic floor workshop virtually with Tryna when I was 22 weeks pregnant with my first baby. The PDF guide she provided and the real life demonstrations in the workshop were invaluable. The 3rd trimester birth ball prep section of the PDF guide was most beneficial to me, and helped keep my pelvic pain at a minimum throughout my pregnancy.

  • Recovery after birth seemed extremely daunting and I didn’t know where to begin to help myself have the best chance at a smooth delivery and recovery. Through Tryna’s workshop I learned key information on different birth positions and left feeling confident advocating for myself in the delivery room.

workshop participant & 1st time mom

  • I feel like because I was familiar with different birthing positions/how to use the props from the workshop (and had practised them ahead of time), it was second nature to use them when the time came. Another aspect that stuck with me was the use of affirmations during the labour process and leading up to it. I don’t think I would have practised the powerful technique for birth prep, had I not been introduced to it in the workshop.
